Administrative Support Coordinator
- B.A. in Psychology, Sonoma State University, Minor in Sociology
- A.A. in Sociology, Las Positas/Chabot Community College
Hello! My name is Veronica Dueñas and I am the Administrative Coordinator for the Center for Academic Access and Student Enrichment (CAASE) at Sonoma State University. I am a first-generation college graduate and a Sonoma State Alumna. I grew up in the small town of San Lorenzo, CA, and attended Las Positas Community College and Chabot Community College where I majored in Sociology and earned my associate degree. I then transferred to Sonoma State and earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Transferring to Sonoma State was a life-changing experience for me as I instantly felt that I had found my new home within the NOMA Nation community and our beautiful Sonoma County.
I am currently a graduate student at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, working towards earning a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Being a first-generation and transfer student, I learned the importance of making connections and I hope to be a resource for our students to support them in reaching their goals.
How I can help
I can support with connecting students to the Center for Academic Access and Student Enrichment (CAASE) advisors or staff members i.e. Disability Services for Students, DREAM Center, Educational Opportunity Program, Multilingual Achievers Program, PUERTA Centro, Seawolf Scholars, United for Success
I can give essential information about programs offered at Sonoma State University for first-generation and low-income students
