Welcome
The Educational Opportunity Program at Sonoma State University provides access, academic support, and a sense of community for first-generation, historically underserved students. EOP is more than just a program , it’s a family that empowers students to succeed personally, academically, and professionally. Through services such as holistic advising, financial assistance, peer mentoring, and transitional support, EOP helps students thrive from admission to graduation and beyond.
The core of our program is built upon a student-centered/empowerment model that:
- Leverages an educational and co-curricular path for building student autonomy and self-reliance;
- Helps students to foster a sense of resilience and self-determination to overcome social, cultural, and systemic oppression;
- Develops students into actively engaged leaders.
EOP students at Sonoma State University are resilient, determined individuals committed to achieving their academic and personal goals. We are excited to support you and guide you through your journey at SSU. From holistic advising and financial assistance to peer mentoring and transitional support, we’re here to help you thrive, academically, personally, and professionally. Welcome to a community that believes in your potential and will be with you every step of the way.
